Members of the Senate and Congress commended Dr. Shani Verschleiser for her work in child safety and SA prevention, at the American Jewish Heritage event in Washington DC where she and Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein were honored.
In her speech, Rep. Debbie Shultz Wasserman stated “Dr. Verschleiser has been really important in starting MagenU and expanding MagenUs’ organization which I am looking forward to beginning to work with her on, so we can help young people who have lived through the really horrific experience of being a victim of CSA, which is unfortunately far more prevalent than many of us think. Wasserman Schultz is the first Jewish female congressperson from the state of Florida. She and Senator Arlen Specter were the driving forces behind the resolution that declared every May Jewish American Heritage Month. The annual observance was created to recognize “the accomplishments of American Jews and the important role that members of the Jewish community have played in the development of American culture”.
MagenU has recently announced its release of a DVD for young children with the “Be a Star” curriculum a six-lesson educational video on personal safety empowering children with the tools needed to protect themselves from predators.
